Beginners Guide to PC Gaming

Beginners guide to PC Gaming:
When starting to play games on the PC, there are a few components that make up the PC which many people do not know about. This list will help you better understand some of these components.

CPU: CPU stands for “central processing unit”. Its job is to process instructions from various applications. It gathers information to then decode and execute the command. These can come in dual core, quad core, and hexa core. For high performance a quad core or hexa core processor is recommended. Usually you want a processor to run at a minimum of 2.0GHz, but the higher the better.

Motherboard: The CPU sits in the motherboard. When building or buying a gaming PC be sure the motherboard has enough slots for the amount of memory you wish to obtain. It is a good idea to be sure that your motherboard supports SLI or CrossFireX configurations.

Memory: This is also referred to as RAM (random access memory). This provides space for data to be accessed by the CPU. At Least 4GB of memory is typically needed. The more memory the better. Before you purchase your memory component, be sure your motherboard can support the speeds you want to achieve.

Graphics Card: This a fairly self explanatory component, as it provides the visuals for the game. Theses can cost between $50 to $600, obviously the more you are willing to spend the better it will be. A graphics card that can support at least GDDR3 video RAM and DirectX 11. Most video cards will support those features.
